A Day of Waiting

Even though it was beautiful outside for much of the day, I spent most of the day inside, waiting for the radiator repairmen to come. They finally showed up at about 1, only to leave five minutes later when they realized that they did not have the correct part.  They said that they would come back again either today or tomorrow!!  Ugh!  The did come back again today however, at about 2:30, replaced some of the valves and then said that they would finish up tomorrow!  This is ridiculous!
While Tabitha was home this afternoon to do some of the waiting around, I did get the chance to leave the house to attend a PTA planning meeting.  While walking to my meeting, I saw a very fun little event going on in the fountain/skate park near our house.  It was "Preschool Day" so there were kids and representatives from every preschool in the area set up in the park.  They had music, art, performances, toys, etc.  Very cute!  They even lined up a whole row of mix and match rubber boots along the wall as an art display.  Very clever!
We had someone working in our "backyard" all day today.  It was nice to have that someone not be me!  He was mowing, mulching, weeding, etc.  He still has a long way to go to make our yard nice but at least he is trying!
Max and Calvin spent the day outside as well.  Today was Athletics Day for grades 6 through 10.  They all spent the day at a local track where they ran races, jumped long jump, high jump, threw shot put, etc.  They had a picnic lunch and goofed around with their friends.  It was apparently very fun and very tiring for both of them.  I don't know, since they refused to let me attend even if I could have left the house… Sigh, I miss when they were little and wanted me to come to things…  Max says that he got 2nd place in everything.  One kid (the same kid) was always better than him.  He had fun though.
