Today, was a GORGEOUS sunny day! We have not seen much of that sunshine lately so it was a beautiful thing to behold. Swedes are so funny when the sun comes out, they literally stop, turn their faces to the sun and just stand there, soaking it all in for as long as they can! I found myself doing the same thing today.
Even my amaryllis perked up today!
When I took my food tour a couple of weeks ago, a reporter tagged along and took pictures. Her article ran today in our English language newspaper. You can read it on The Local.
Tabitha now has school until 5:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays. She already had class until 4:30 on Thursdays and Fridays and now Mondays and Wednesdays are even longer. In the very typical, laid back, Swedish approach, they added a class and lengthened a school day without even asking the parents! Our kids are all so independent in their transportation to and from school and these kids are seniors in high school, that when their economics teacher suddenly had to quit and the new one that they hired could not available until 3:30 each day, they simply adjusted the school schedule to make it work! Tabitha grumbled a bit but it actually works out well for her as they are allowed to leave the school grounds in their free time and she is able to get her Swedish lessons done during the time that she used to have Economics.
