A Spontaneous IKEA Day!

Wow!  Today was busy!  I went to the first PTA meeting of the new term this morning.  It was nice to welcome some new families and to not feel like the new one!  I met a new woman from Germany and one from South Africa.  Should be fun to get to know them!
After the meeting, while talking to a few friends, we sort of spontaneously decided to go to IKEA and someone actually had a car to make our trip easier!  It was incredible how much we could buy, just knowing that we had an easy way to get it home!
After getting home from IKEA, I had to immediately leave again with Coco to get her to an appointment with her groomer.

This involves a walk followed by a bus ride followed by a long walk.  45 minutes of travel and then 2.5 hours of killing time while I waited for her to be finished.  I was quite cold and tired by the end of it all.  Being out of the central part of the city and trying to kill time made me realize how fortunate we are to live so centrally and to have access to everything.  I couldn't even find a coffee shop open to warm up in after 4 p.m.!  Crazy.  Anyway, after another 45 minutes in rush hour bus traffic of getting Coco home.  I settled the kids in with homework, dinner, etc before rushing off again for a open board meeting at school.  Our one opportunity through the school year to meet the board of directors and talk to them about wishes and concerns.  Very interesting and very well run.  I then went out for dinner with a friend and finally made it back home at 9 p.m.
