Rainy Days and Mondays...

We got up early this morning so the kids could see Janis off to the airport and to say their goodbyes.  Janis and I took the airport express train and had no difficulty getting her checked in and ready for her trans-Atlantic flight.  Hopefully the flight went just as smoothly!
Josh actually flew up to Luleå last night, because this morning, he was meeting with the Hill-Rom CEO to discuss how things are going here.  I had to laugh when I got this text this morning from Josh, asking if his outfit was okay for his meeting....
I guess he was nervous!
After seeing Janis off on her flight, I headed back home in the rain, ready to settle back into my normal daily routine.  For today, that included going to a friend's house to learn how to make her famous chocolate cake!
Anna-Maria is Hungarian and often makes this Lúdláb torta for our group gatherings.  She will be leaving Sweden to return to Hungary in July, so she agreed to teach us all how to make this cake before she goes.  Therefore, today, a group of us spent the day eating, watching, talking and laughing.  Having a great time as usual!

There is actually one kilo of butter in this one cake!  Insane but also insanely good!  The kids were thrilled when I brought home two extra slices.
While Max and Tabitha had Swedish lessons this afternoon, Calvin went to the Indian Cultural Evening at school.  He had a good time learning about Indian culture, watching some Bollywood dancing and trying some Indian snacks.  Gotta love the multicultural aspect of our lives here.
Oh, and one other thing!  This really is a very fun city.  There is always something interesting or whacky going on.  April 6th is actually International Pillow Fight Day so even though I missed it, there was a flash mob pillow fight in our main city square that was obviously quite fun to watch or to become a part of!
