A Rooftop Deck

Most people that I know have some sort of balcony or deck off of their urban apartments to enjoy the sunshine.  We do not, but our building is supposed to be adding them on to each apartment in June.  I can't wait!  Today, I had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine on my friend, Monica's beautiful rooftop deck.  It was the perfect day and when enjoyed with some homemade (by Monica) yummy cake and some good friends, it was a great way to spend the afternoon!

One interesting thing to note about a roof top deck, however, is to not try to hose it off just after your downstairs neighbor hangs his sweaters to dry on his balcony!  Monica found that out yesterday!

I couldn't stay nearly as long as I wanted because I had to take Coco to the groomer.  She had been quickly turning into an overgrown rag mop and something had to be done!  She and I are not fans of the long, crowded bus ride to the groomer's place but today I discovered a much easier route by subway!  It was so much better and Coco could actually relax on the subway!  She got a beautiful bath and haircut and she will now get many more snuggles and kisses from everyone since she smells so much better!
I had to take this quick picture of the subway station where we got off because it is so not what most people would think of with a subway stop!  Because Stockholm is so hilly and watery, many times, the subway actually runs above ground.  And, since Stockholm is so pretty, many of the stops are actually quite pretty!
I made a mistake on the subway today, however!  Maybe I am getting complacent because I feel like I know this place!  Anyway, after taking Coco to the groomer and heading to Monica's place, I had to change trains.  When I made my connection I got on the correct line but I got onto a train that split from the route I needed rather than the direct line that I should have taken.  To complicate matters, the recorded voice on the train that tells you which stop is coming up was messed up and reading the route that I wanted rather than the one that I was one!  When I discovered the mistake, I was about 4 stops past where I needed to be.  Oh well, as I always tell the kids, "just get off the train, walk across the platform and get on the next one going the other way".  No big deal, but it did add about 15 minutes to my trip.
After school, basketball practice and guitar lessons, Max had to join some friends at the park across the street and play for a couple of hours.  We love these long, warm days!
