Time with Calvin

We have decided that the Swedes are always being just a little tongue in cheek or a little sarcastic with their comments.  They don't seem to take anything too seriously and seem to enjoy poking fun at themselves and others.  Not necessarily a bad thing, we just don't always get it!
I did get this though... This is a fruit smoothie sold in our stores...
Pretty funny little stab at Berlusconi.

This morning, I took Calvin to a dermatology appointment.  Once again, I was thrilled with the extremely friendly and efficient Swedish healthcare system.  No co-pays, no insurance hassles, just the doctor coming out to greet you himself, at the time of your scheduled appointment and then very professionally and easily handling your complaint before getting you back on your way.  Fantastic!  Because the appointment only took about half of the time that I expected, Calvin and I had time to stop at a nearby coffee shop for a quick breakfast before heading to school.  Nice one on one time with "the middle child".  We both enjoyed it!
After walking Calvin to school, I then attended the 12th grade parents graduation meeting.  It was very exciting!  The school and Swedish tradition call for all sorts of special activities for the graduating seniors.  Tabitha will have a whole week of fun starting on June 2.   We are really looking forward to it, especially since her US high school changed her graduation date so that she is now unable to attend her US graduation.
Right after the graduation meeting, I jumped on the subway to make it to the second half of my badminton club.  Even though I missed much of the fun, I still had a great time, hitting that little birdie and doing lots of laughing with my friends.
After badminton, my friend, Monica and I headed to the British shop.  It was time to replenish my Crisco and molasses!  Two things that I cannot find anywhere else around here!
It was a gray, dreary day so none of us spent too much time outdoors but it is still warm (40 F).
Max had to hurry home after school and get busy baking.  He is baking for the little kids' Valentine's party on Friday.  By baking for the cake walk, he earns some much needed community service hours that the school requires.
