A Changed Woman

After my 2.5 mile walk to meet my walking club, followed by the 7.5 mile walk with my group, a quick fika and then the 2.5 mile walk home.  I was tired.  And hot!  I so overdressed, thinking that 38 degrees was going to be cold, but without any wind and some moisture in the air, I was too warm the whole time.  The views were not nearly as pretty today as we have had grey skies but warm temperatures all week.  The snow is gone and now the ice on the water ways is almost gone as well. Everyone assures us that winter is not nearly over but it is certainly starting to feel a bit like spring!

Anyway, because I was tired and still had errands to run, I decided to take my old lady shopping trolley with me for the very first time!  I bought this before we moved here, but have been very reluctant to use it, because it is what the old ladies pull around with them and I did not want to lump myself in with them.  However, I decided today that those old ladies are pretty darn smart!!!  It was amazing what I could accomplish because I didn't need to make extra trips home to drop things off and I could pull around everything that I needed without my arms feeling ready to fall off!  Wow!  I was loading up big bags of dog food, bottles of wine and beer, groceries, etc and still had room to share!!  I am convinced, this is the way to shop!

At fika today, it was hilarious to listen to a Danish woman describe her very first root beer float!  Last week, we had told her about root beer floats and A&W root beer.  Her husband got a hold of some and they gave it a try.  She said that "it was terrible!!  The worst thing that she has ever tried!"  Hilarious!  All of the Americans in the group were properly appalled at her reaction!
Time to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics!  Should be fun!  Too bad the commentary is in Swedish!
