This morning, it was a little bit windy and a little bit cloudy but still very pleasant. After seeing the farmer's market at the church yard across the street and having our morning coffee and pastries, we decided to get in the car and drive the 30 km to the cute little touristy town of Tavira.
Tavira is still in the Algarve region of Portugal, just east along the coast. The drive was easy and the town was well worth the visit. Portugal has a lot of poverty, leaving many of the buildings as "shabby chic" but beautiful.
Prices are also wonderfully low! We bought 3 bags of groceries yesterday for 12 Euros! Our coffee and pastries, cost us just 3 Euro 10. Fantastic, after spending an arm and a leg daily in Stockholm.
We walked around all day. We visited churches, shops, the ruins of a castle, the river front, and cafes. We admired architecture and orange groves and we ate ice cream in the sunshine. The weather cooperated all day, only rolling in some cloud cover and a few sprinkles of rain when we were ready to get back in the car anyway and head home.
