Signs of Spring

Yet another gorgeous day in Stockholm!  If this keeps up, I will be one happy girl!  We woke up to bright, sunny skies!  Max was curled up on the couch in the sunshine before school and was very, very content.
After the kids left for school, I headed out to my badminton club.  Walking through the city was absolutely gorgeous and everyone had a smile on their face!

We are surrounded by so much water since Stockholm is made up of 14 islands, that we tend to forget that that water is actually used for functional things!  2013 saw records set in the Stockholm ports for both cruise passengers and for container handling.  I certainly saw this port working hard today when I walked past to get to my badminton club.

One friend who lives on the water, took this picture today of teenagers actually swimming in the Baltic today!  It was certainly not that warm!!
After badminton and a quick shower, I headed out to Djurgården to meet a group of friends for lunch and an art exhibit.  We were able to eat our lunch outside today in a nice, sunny courtyard.  Fantastic!
We then thoroughly enjoyed the Swedish art contest that we viewed.  You can view all of the pieces at this site.  http://www.liljevalchs.se/utstallningar/varsalongen-2014/
One of our favorites was these birds that were made out of beer and pop cans...
One Indian friend of mine has just found out that they are being transferred back to India with her husband's job.  They have not lived in India for more than 12 years and gave up their Indian citizenship to live in Britain for 7 years.  They will now move back to a country where her kids have never lived and will live as ex-pats in their home town.  Strange and a little scary for her!
