Bad Language?

Quincy and his friend, Brody, are having a great time out in Utah with my parents.  Quincy is notoriously bad about taking pictures and mom can never upload hers til she gets home so luckily, we have Brody who is keeping me up to date with his Facebook photos.  He is also making it perfectly clear to me that Quincy is in desperate need of a haircut!

This morning, I joined the usual Monday morning fika group to catch up with a few of the local international women.  Always fun.
After then running a few errands and eating lunch, Coco and I joined a Norwegian friend and her dog for a long walk around Lill-Jansskogen, a large park that was part of the facilities for the 1956 Summer Olympics.  Beautiful park with nice trails so we had a very pleasant walk!

At my last PTA meeting, we had a very interesting discussion with the director of the school.  Foul language is becoming a bit of a problem around school, especially among the older kids, and the faculty is working on a plan to deal with this.  Swedish people cuss very often and mostly in English.  They truly don't think much about using foul language.   The international parents were explaining that this is much less accepted in other parts of the world.  The director (who is Swedish) was giving us examples of how they will deal with this.  She used "shit" as her example several times, each time stating, "I know that "shit" isn't really a bad word but..."
Uh.... it is where I come from!!
Perfect example of the different mind sets that were causing this problem to begin with!!
I have to include a picture of the cake that Max made from scratch yesterday... Fantastic!!
My kids only had a half day of school today due to a teacher in-service.  Unfortunately, the afternoon turned out to be rainy, so while Tabitha had a big gaggle of girls over, the boys and I played a rousing game of Scrabble!
