Djurgården at It's Finest

While the kids were in school, I talked Janis and Nichole into joining my walking group today.  The weather could not have been more perfect, 55 and sunny!  Today, we walked for a cause at my request, to "spread the word about ending the word".  Everyone wore blue and we will share our group shot with the foundation's website.
I took it easy on Nichole and Janis and we took the tram to and from our starting point, which cut about 5 miles off of our roundtrip.  Janis still got in more than 20,000 steps today according to her pedometer. I also made sure to walk a bit more slowly which enabled Janis and Nichole to meet and talk to many members of my club.  It was great, and I think safe to say that both enjoyed themselves.  Nichole was very interesting in talking to the wives of diplomats, to learn what that life is like!  I know that they loved the fika afterwards!
The island that we walk around, Djurgården, was in it's glory today with the perfect weather!

After our walk and our fika, Janis and Nichole and I headed out for a little more exploring.  We couldn't stand to be inside on a day like today so we chose to walk along the waterfront before catching the ferry across a little portion of the Baltic, and then taking a bus to the communications tower that would enable us a sky view of the city.

Kaknästornet was the perfect spot to see everything from above today.

Nichole was surprised to see how much water there really is in this city!
After meandering home, we arrived just in time for the kids to get home from school.  Tabitha and Nichole are now off to spend the night at the home of a friend!
