Potocki-Lupski Syndrome

Yesterday evening, Valérie and Pierre-Augustin headed back to France.  We hated to see them go but we certainly had a very enjoyable visit!  Even though Valérie and Pierre-Augustin did not join me on Friday morning, I still had a wonderful long walk with my local friends on our usual route.  This time, we were walking to create awareness for the newly recognized diagnosis of PTLS.  Monica's dear friend has a son with this very rare condition and we all wore green to create awareness.

The skies were overcast but the warmer, dryer temperatures certainly made the walk pleasant!
We always see dogwalkers out and around the city.  It is illegal in Sweden to leave your dog home alone for more than 6 hours at a time, so dogwalkers and doggie daycares are quite necessary in Stockholm where the majority of the adult population works full time.  While walking, we were finally able to capture a picture of the magnitude of this job!  31 dogs for 3 walkers...
All I know is that Coco poops at least 2 times each time that I take her out for a long walk...  Not a fun job if you ask me!
After our long walk, we went to our usual fika spot where Valérie and Pierre-Augustin joined us and were able to meet many of my big group of friends.  A couple French speakers really made them feel comfortable and welcome!
After fika, my guests and I went for a long rambling walk through the city before lunch and then another walk (with Coco) in our neighborhood parks.  A very nice way to spend their last day in Stockholm.  Shortly after Valerie and Pierre-Augustin left by train for the airport, Josh surprised us by coming home early from Luleå!  His Friday afternoon meeting was cancelled so he headed home.  Nice  surprise!
Today was all about sunshine and blue skies!  Loved it, although a cold wind kept it from being too warm.  We still spent plenty of time outdoors, walking Coco, shopping and for Max, playing with a friend.  We are now heading out to dinner with friends and playing to listen to some live music in old town.

Yesterday was also Quincy's 19th birthday!!  So hard to believe that our little screaming baby could be that big already!  We hated not seeing him on his birthday, but he and a friend flew out to Las Vegas where they were picked up by my parents.  Quincy and Brody will now spend the next week exploring the southwest United States with Quincy's grandparents.  They are very excited, especially for the warmer temperatures!
