Fantastic day today! No, not the fact that it was cold and rainy (although knowing that it was snowing at home but not here did feel pretty good!) But, because I started out my morning at a friend's house for book club. Nancy made us all very comfortable in her beautiful home with lots of yummy treats to eat but the best part was the discussion! We had read the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Great book about World War II. Well, having it discussed by a group of women with very varied backgrounds was fantastic!! We had women from Poland, Hungary, Italy, Germany, the US, England, Denmark, etc. Wow! We realized that the world history that we were all taught and grew up with varied significantly! Perspectives and knowledge bases are so different. Just fascinating! We had to force ourselves to stop after 4 hours of talking because several of us had our next club to go to. Today, was the first time that I participated in the City Lunch club. This is a group of women who meet once a month to try some local restaurant that might be off the beaten path or not likely to be frequented easily by any of us. We went to a little Indian restaurant today that was delicious. About 22 women were present so we had wonderful food and some more fun discussions. This time, I ended up at a table with all Americans and one Italian woman. Very fun to talk about the unusual things that we are finding out about Sweden!
