Another great day in Stockholm! The sun is now officially rising right around 8 a.m. but when I left the house at about 8:45, it still looked like "sunrise". The sun never seems to get very high so when it is out, it is often shooting you right in the eye! Because it is out for such short periods of time and so infrequently, I have stopped carrying my sunglasses with me so I am caught off guard when I do need them!
Today, I met a group of ex-pat women for fika at a wonderful coffee shop that is quite famous in Stockholm. This group is not associated with the school (although many of the participants are repeats) so I met a few new people and even got to hold some babies! After socializing for just a bit, I had to head out to the shops for some Christmas shopping and preparing for the Thanksgiving dinner that I am hosting on Saturday for 15! Before I knew it, it was time to meet a few other friends for lunch! (I know, it's a rough life but someone has to do it!) One member of this group, I hadn't met before and had a great time getting to know her. She is an ex-WNBA player and has led a very interesting life!
Don't worry, I am always home when the kids get home from school! Max was thrilled today because he won a contest at school where they bought chances to guess the number of pieces of candy in a jar. He guessed the exact number and won the candy! Super fun! He is now fighting a bad cold so this certainly helped to improve his mood!
