Yesterday, the kids just had school and Josh had work as usual. Thanksgiving was mentioned by quite a few people as there are a lot of Americans in our midst, but mostly, it was just a day as usual. I went to play badminton with my club. I then had a fantastic afternoon at a local Polish restaurant where my friend, AnnaMaria had set up a Hungarian wine-tasting day. We had a phenomenal Polish meal while we tried 7 different kinds of Hungarian wines and learned all about wine country in Hungary! Certainly put me in the mood to travel!
After a couple of hours of eating rich food and drinking too much, it did feel more like Thanksgiving!
It was also my friend, Monica's birthday yesterday. So after Josh got home and the kids got settled, I headed out for a long dinner and gab session with Monica and Lori to celebrate. We had a fantastic Italian meal in a very "hot" spot of town. It enabled us to see what Stockholm night life is like on Thursday night and it is pretty raucous! Super fun!
This morning, it was walking club as usual. Always fun and always full of new people to meet! It was about 32 degrees but quite comfortable while we were walking quickly. After an abbreviated fika, I headed home to start preparing for our real Thanksgiving celebration. We are having a total of 15 people here for a meal tomorrow evening. Should be interesting in our tiny place! Josh and Calvin went by bus to pick up our 20 pound turkey! They got quite a few surprised looks!
