Happy Gustav Adolf Day!

Yet another day in Sweden to celebrate with cake, today was Gustav Adolf day.  Gustav was a much loved Swedish king and died on Nov 6 of 1632.  It is not an official holiday or anything but people do make note of it and many of the cakes in the bakeries have a little chocolate likeness of his face on the pieces today.

I joined a new exercise class today at a gym just around the corner from our house.  A new friend of mine is the instructor.  She is Danish and pushed us hard.  Very fun!
After showering and running some errands, I met up with a Canadian friend of mine to take the subway to the English store.  I had been there before and knew that I could get some Thanksgiving essentials there.  So, I stocked up.  We don't know yet what we will do on Thanksgiving but we will be eating some pumpkin pie!
The kids are continuing to just do great here.  They continue to grow more comfortable with their new friends and participating in their activities.  Calvin is playing chess in the chess club, participating in the speech and debate club and taking tennis and drum lessons.  He is also considering picking up some fencing lessons!  He is just finishing a unit in gym class where they have been taking dance.  For their final project, they had to choreograph their own dance and perform with partners.  He wasn't thrilled by it but it was fun to do something very different.
Tabitha is going to student meetings where they work on improving their school and the facility, she takes guitar lessons and she is spending lots of time with friends!  She is also having mountains of homework between the tough course work here and her two online classes to meet her final requirements for her US high school!  She is a busy girl!
Max is taking Swedish as an enrichment class after school 2 days per week, he is also playing cricket and taking guitar lessons.  He is having a good time with friends and even has a friend from Egypt!  He thinks that is very cool!  He is also finishing the unit in gym class on dance and performed a hip hop routine with a couple of other guys!

It was about 41 degrees and cloudy for us all day today but for Josh at work, his scene just keeps getting snowier!
It is now fully dark here by 4:30.   It is going to be an interesting winter...
