Exploring Skansen

We again woke up to a cool but gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky, kind of day so we set out to do some exploring!  While the girls headed to old town with some of Tabitha's friends from school, we took the ferry (which is covered with our bus/subway passes) from old town to the island of Djurgården to tour the famous, open air museum of Skansen.

Here, we got to see all sorts historical Swedish buildings from various eras and from various parts of Sweden.  We also got to see people performing their professions as they had been performed 100 years ago.  We saw bakers, glass blowers, metal smiths, engineers, and furniture makers.  Very interesting and very informative as everyone explained their work in English.

Skansen is perched high up on a hill on Djurgården so the views of Stockholm were gorgeous!

We ate lunch in a quaint little tea shop and walked around for hours before heading home.

The girls also had a great day and are quickly learning how to navigate Stockholm.

Calvin has spent 3-4 hours on homework already this evening though so it's not ALL fun and games!
