Another Beautiful Cake

We woke up to another beautiful and sunny day with temperatures in the low 50's.  Gorgeous!  Tabitha and her two friends took off last evening for a sleep over birthday party at the seaside home of one of her school friends.   They apparently had a great time and didn't get home until about noon today.  Molly and Melia were then fighting to stay awake as we encouraged them to to get over their jet lag.  So, we all headed to the main mall in the city center for some shopping.

We are still trying to get our cell phone contracts!  We only have the two cheap, pay as you go flip phones that we bought when we arrived and with everyone going off in different directions, this is getting hard to juggle and pretty frustrating.  We need our person numbers to get everything around here and that definitely includes cell phone contracts.  So, when our person numbers arrived by mail yesterday, we thought that we might actually be able to get our cell phones today!  But, alas, no such luck.  We chose our phones, chose our contract and spent time once again with the very nice cell phone salesman, only to find out that they will not verify new person numbers on a weekend!  We will try again on Monday...

We did find a bigger, cheaper and so much better hardware store though so Josh could continue to work on our little home improvement projects.  And, Max used his first bit of Swedish allowance to enjoy the vast selections of candy that are everywhere you look around here!  I found yet another delicious selection of cakes at a nearby bakery and bought one to celebrate the arrival of our guests.
Tabitha and Molly and Melia did a little mall cruising on their own before taking the subway to do some sight seeing.  They hit the Vasa Museum before walking around Djurgården and enjoying the sunshiny day!
Josh and I were thrilled to send Max and Calvin off to order and pick up on their own, their first carry out Swedish pizza (just normal pizza but with a very thin crust).  We could then go down the block and eat some fantastic tapas at a local Spanish restaurant on our own.  Great day!

  1. I'm thinking Max has the "Grandpa Shenk" candy gene - watch out: he'll be saving candy boxes next and putting pennies in them.
