Stockholm is part of an archipelago made up of more than 30,000 islands in the Baltic Sea. Stockholm itself is made up of 14 of those islands. This morning, we took a 3 hour boat tour to see some of those many, many islands. It was really beautiful although cold and fairly cloudy! It was great to see the fall colors emerging though and the many, many summer homes and permanent homes that dot those islands. 150 of the islands are inhabited, 85% are privately owned. Most of the inhabited ones have electricity with cables running under the sea. Really interesting! The kids liked seeing how Stockholm was situated in it's surroundings so they could get a different perspective. Josh and I had seen this before when we took a short cruise during our house finding trip here.
