English Speaking

When I say that almost everyone here can speak excellent English, I really mean it!  I just read this article today about how Grade 9 students in the Swedish school system are now scoring higher on the Standardized tests in English than they are in Swedish!  I wonder if they will eventually lose their native language...
Today was COLD!  They were predicting snow but it actually only flurried for about 5 minutes. It was overcast, windy and cold, however.  The high temperature was only 37.  It was truly a winter coat day, all day long.  Good thing that our winter coats came in our shipment yesterday!
I walked to school to meet up with my walking group at 8:30.  We then took off on a more than 7 mile trek around the island of Djurgården.  Beautiful, as always but cold and windy.

We always finish our walks with fika.  Today, we went to the beautiful Flickorna Helin Voltaire.
This wonderful little cafe had a roaring fire, delicious sandwiches for lunch and a huge selection of sweet treats!  Fantastic.  We warmed up, ate, talked and then set out to all walk home, at least another two miles for most of us!
Apparently, at the cafe, you can leave your horse or your stroller by the front door!

Some of the sights from our walk.

I continue to feel like I make new friends almost daily and am starting to really connect with a few.  So fun to launch into these new relationships!

I met Tabitha's friends when I got home and set them off on their way to tour the royal palace.  They had a great time and thought it was the "most beautiful place they have ever been"!

Tonight, Tabitha and Molly and Melia are out on the town with some of Taba's local friends.  Once again, loving the freedom of the city life.
