Even Rainier!

Today, it rained even harder and the wind blew even more than yesterday.  Hard to believe but true.  We put on our rain pants, jackets and boots and headed out.  We took the funicular up to the top of Mount Floyen and even though the views were severely limited due to the rain, clouds and gale force winds, it was STILL beautiful!  I can't imagine what it would be like in good weather.  We did a little hiking through the fairy-tale like forests on top of the mountain before we just had had enough and felt like we needed to be dry for at least a little bit.  We took the funicular down, ate some lunch and then hit the Bryggen museum to learn the archaeological history of the area.  The museum was great but we only had 30 minutes before they closed so we took in as much as we could.  We then headed back out into the rain which had lightened up slightly.  Because we weren't quite as wet, we decided to walk up Mount Floyen and through the adorable residential areas along the way.  Fantastic!  The gushing water was amazing though as all of the run off from the rain, raced down the mountain.  My Norwegian friend tells me that the west coast of Norway is expecting more rain than they have had in 50 years...

We are now safely onboard our Fjord cruise boat, the MS Trollfjord where we will be for the next 20 hours.  We are thrilled to be warm, in dry clothes and just relaxing for a bit!
