Cold Ears!

I headed out the door, bright and early this morning to meet my outdoor exercise class at one of the local parks.  There is no easy way to get to this park, so I decided to ride my bike.  Riding in Stockholm traffic is always a little nerve-wracking for this Indiana born and bred girl, but riding in rush hour commuter traffic is very interesting!  There are plenty of bicycle commuters in all weather, so I was certainly not the only one in the bike lanes but that almost makes it worse!  I am more comfortable looking out for cars then I am for other bikes!  Anyway, after riding for about 10 minutes, the only thing that I could think and worry about was just how cold my ears and toes were!  Wow, it was a crisp, windy morning!  Exercise class was no picnic today, as we ran hills, worked all sorts of muscles, and generally punished ourselves beyond all recognition.   However, I never once got warm enough to shed any of my 3 layers!  Might be time to move our exercise class indoors...

Max spent the afternoon at the Swedish parliament today.  Since he will soon go to the Model United Nations conference in Budapest, his MUN group took the afternoon to learn how the Swedish and EU parliaments work.  He said that it was very interesting!  I also just learned that he is his class representative for his student government.  (He never even told me that he was elected!)  So, because the Student Council is having a bake sale and Halloween party tomorrow, he decided that he needed a cake for the morning.  He decided this at 5:30 this evening.  So, after giving a big, mom-groan and trying to talk him into something more simple, I let him go to it.  He not only made a bundt cake from scratch on his own, but he also ran to the store and bought the decorating supplies and decorated it completely himself!  I guess that I can't really complain after all...

It turned out pretty great!  Now, if we can only get it to school in the morning without destroying it!
