Baguettes

It has been my quest, ever since we moved away from France, to successfully make my own baguette at home.  I am quite good at making bread, but have still never been able to get that crispy outside with the chewy inside that truly typifies a boulangerie baguette.  This morning, I finally succeeded!  It was so excited, and Max and Josh happily ate fresh baguettes all day long.  It's the little things that really make me happy!

Besides bread baking, we didn't do much else today since it was again, cold and rainy.  We did venture out for a little shopping to get Josh some hiking gear for our upcoming trip to Norway.  While walking the streets, we were amazed to see a long line of customers waiting to get into one particular store.  We soon discovered that they were waiting their turn to get into the only Halloween costume store in Stockholm!  Such a funny sight when Halloween isn't even taken too seriously around here!

Quincy is very happy to have his girl friend, Samantha, visiting St Louis from Omaha this weekend.  He is taking the opportunity today to show her the sights, the Arch and the City Museum.
Tabitha included a few pictures of some of her latest good times.

And, finally, I will include one more picture from UN Day yesterday.  This is me, with a few of my friends as we pose with the US Ambassador to Sweden.
