Happy Father's Day and Bon Voyage

Big day in the Shenk home!  Quincy and Calvin got up early this morning and Josh took them to the airport after a quick Father's Day celebration.  They are our first homeward bound travelers for the summer, but since neither will come back in the fall, there was a lot of luggage involved!  They are both excited though and have made it safely to Newark, the first leg of their travels.  Max and I both shed a few tears when they left.  It's going to be awfully quiet around here!

After Josh hung out with them at the airport for a bit and got them on their way, he headed home.  We then took Maxwell to an all day birthday party (It's not Father's Day in Sweden so it is business as usual) of paintball fun.  After dropping him off and because Tabitha was still at a sleep over with friends, we were kid-free on Father's Day!  Weird!  We decided to enjoy the sunshine and partake in a  little fika at a sidewalk cafe.
It is a gorgeous day so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  We also had the fun of watching a film crew working hard across the street as they were filming some movie in the building on the corner.

The sun was so bright, they were actually using filters to block some of the light going into the building.
After lounging for quite awhile, we strolled home and decided to take a long nap.  Whew!  Tough day!  This was our view from the nap position!
I finally roused myself after Tabitha got home and headed out to take Coco for a long walk and to do some grocery shopping.  The big public pool in the park across the street was finally reopened today after being closed for a couple of decades!  They have been working 7 days a week on it since we arrived in September, refurbishing and reconstructing.  It was great to see it open today amidst much fanfare and excitement.
I don't know what the season is in Sweden for an outdoor pool but the Swedes are much tougher than we are, so who knows!
After finally coming home from his paintball party, Max quickly moved himself in to Calvin's old room and has decided that the adjoining room (his old bedroom) will now simply be his "game room".
A big spaghetti dinner completed Josh's Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to my dad!  We love you!
