Today, could not have been any prettier! It was about 80 degrees and sunny and gorgeous. Tabitha spent the day with friends, on the water at a friend's house. Max and Calvin each had a "class outing" day where each classroom was give $300 by the school and allowed to go anywhere and do anything that they decided to do. Calvin's class went to a local beach on the Baltic and had Subway subs. Max's class went to a local park on
Lake Mälaren where they swam and played and ate snacks all day. They both had a great time and loved the very relaxed nature of their school day. Quincy took the dog for a long, long walk. Josh went to work. I had a final PTA board meeting of the year with the school administration. Unbeknownst to me, the administration always takes the PTA board out to lunch at the end of the year. What a happy circumstance after our meeting! They took us to one of the best restaurants in Stockholm and one that I have been wanting to go to because of it's fantastic reputation and location!
Eriks Gondolen Restaurant is located on some crazy sort of bridge like structure on top of a free standing elevator. The views of the city are incredible!
Top that off with excellent food, some wine and some good conversation with the school administrators and you have a great afternoon! The school administrators are Croatian, American, Australian and Swedish. Leading to interesting conversations!
After leaving the group, I chose to walk the 2 1/2 miles home and just enjoy the day and to do a little shopping. Strolling through the old town on my way was almost overwhelming. This truly is an amazing and beautiful city! Who would have known it about Stockholm, Sweden!
My pictures don't do it justice as I only had my phone with me but you get the idea...
P.S. Just a couple of interesting final things...
And a picture from 12:16 a.m. last night. Remember that the sun rises at 3:30 a.m.!
