Dogs in Boots

It rained last night so much of our snow has disappeared.  However, that just means that the gravel on the sidewalks is now very present!  They don't use salt here, either on roads or sidewalks, but they do spread small pieces of gravel to provide some traction.  This does help, but when the snow melts, there is just a lot of gravel to walk on.  We all track this into buildings, our homes, and carry it around, lodged in the grooves of our shoes for months. The dogs are the ones that really suffer though because those little pieces of gravel just dig into their feet!  I try to walk Coco in clear areas as much as possible, or even on the grass or remaining snow if I can, but she does have to do some gravel walking.  The people who truly love their pets are the ones that actually put boots on their feet before heading out!

The poor dogs!  I am not sure whether they would prefer the gravel, just to avoid the boots!
I went to a yoga class this morning that was run as a fundraiser for our school's pet project.  We have a year round program dedicated to raising money for a school in Nepal.  This week is all about raising money through various fitness activities.  Races, classes, pie throwing, etc.  Very fun!  After yoga, it was time to meet up with 8 friends for fika.  Always nice...
They came to finish painting our door frames in the whole building yesterday.  So, once again, I had to turn in a key for them to use to access our apartment.  Unfortunately, I translated the notice wrong and put my key in the building management mailbox instead of giving it to the contractor.  So, now I can't get my key back!  I will have to track down someone who can help me out...
And, finally, just for your entertainment.  Please read my good friend, Nancy's, blog posting...  She is great fun and this actually made me laugh out loud!
