Saying Good-Bye and Making Pasta

As much fun as this ex-pat life is, it does involve a lot of good-byes.  It is sort of a revolving door of making new friends and then saying good-bye as they move on to new experiences.  Today started out as one of those sad moments, when we had a gathering to say good-bye to our friend, Michelle.  Michelle and I arrived within just weeks of each other so it is hard to imagine that it is time for her to leave so soon.  But, that is way the international business world works...

After saying good-bye, I toted my big (heavy!) pan of tiramisu out to the suburbs for this month's cooking club.  We went to the home of a German woman who taught us to make homemade pasta and pasta sauces.  It was fantastic and so much fun!

It is always fun to get a glimpse of the suburban life here because it is so different than our urban life style.  It doesn't make me want to change a thing but it is a fun little outing, especially when the sun is shining and the sky is blue!
By the time we cooked and ate our way through a mountain of pasta, it was time for me to head home.  I immediately took Coco for a walk and at 3:15, this is how Stockholm looked today!
At least we have lots of time to enjoy the Christmas lights each day!
