I had such a fantastic day yesterday! My dear friend, Meg celebrated her 50th birthday at the end of November. A 50th birthday is a very big deal in Sweden and is often celebrated with a wedding reception-like, formal type of party. We didn't think that Meg would go for that but we wanted to do something special for her. She has led our walking club for almost 4 years so everyone who is a member of the club wanted to participate. So, after our 12 km walk yesterday morning, we surprised Meg with a party at our favorite fika spot. 40 people were present including some of her very best friends. One flew in from Holland and one from Italy to surprise her. She was hugely surprised and thrilled!
We then surprised her again later in the day when 14 of us took her dancing and then out for dinner. Such a fantastic time with a great group of friends!
While I was out and about, Josh was attending a going away party for a colleague of his up in Lulea and Max was rock climbing and eating out with one of his friends. A fun Friday night for all!
Josh and I are now headed out for a traditional
Julbord on board an archipelago cruise boat with a group of other parents from the International school.
