- Don't bother to put much effort into your hair, it will be rained on, snowed on or windblown within minutes of leaving the house
- ALWAYS bring a sweater or jacket along, no matter how sunny and warm it might currently appear to be
- You will always be too hot or too cold sometimes both within the space of five minutes because nothing is climate controlled
- ALWAYS bring an umbrella
- ALWAYS bring a reusable grocery sack because you ALWAYS need to stop at some store for just one thing and you don't want to buy yet another bag
- ALWAYS bring a poop bag when walking with your dog, she can surprise you at any moment
- ALWAYS carry a big enough bag to bring along aforementioned items
- ALWAYS wear shoes that you can walk long distances in, in any kind of weather
Whew. it's all coming back to me...
Despite being a wrinkled, soaked, sweating, disheveled mess because I didn't remember all of these things BEFORE leaving the house today, I had a pretty great day. Went for a long walk along the water with two friends. Took Coco to her grooming appointment, and then met another friend for fika. All fun. And, Coco looks so much better now that she is cleaned up again!
The best part of my day was talking to Calvin on the phone. He certainly seems to be enjoying every aspect of his new school and has even joined the Saturday morning Quidditch team! Of course, the thing that he really loves is the all you can eat buffet meals. He even sent me a picture of his breakfast!
Quincy is gearing up to head back to school this weekend and starting to organize his things and his next semester.
We are assuming Tabitha is also doing well! Josh left her in New Orleans today as he needed to head back to Batesville. He hasn't seen her since Monday and she hasn't needed him at all but he just wanted to give her a few days in case she did. She seems to be having a great time learning the Tulane pride as she attends the Tulane Explore Greenie camp this week. This link gives a brief glimpse of what she is doing all week. We will hope for more details later.
I certainly am enjoying our beautiful city with all it's wonderful green spaces and bustling city streets.
