The competition gave us all just enough time to see some sights, take a duck boat tour, find some wonderful restaurants and food halls, talk, laugh, drink, let the kids roam, and shop. It also enabled us to see the top 250 junior high mathletes in the nation in action. Wow! What a humbling experience that was!
Unfortunately, it was time to call it a day on Sunday, say good-bye to our friends and fly back home. Max had tears in his eyes and I could barely keep my eyes dry either. BUT, we knew that Tabitha was waiting for us at home and it was the perfect Mother's Day gift to fly home to her! We hadn't seen her since January and she was a sight for sore eyes! She completed her first year at Tulane and will now spend a week at home with us before flying to Europe to work as a nanny all summer.
While Max was at school today, I showed Tabitha around the city of her birth!
She loved the Westside market, downtown and driving around in dad's convertible on this hot and sunny day!
