"There is no bad weather, just bad clothes!"

Julmarknader och vänner!
Christmas markets and friends!  There seem to be plenty of both around here and I got to enjoy them at length today.  Due to the snow, Josh flew home last night so he wouldn't get stuck in Luleå over the weekend.  He then worked at home all day so I stayed out of his way.   It was drizzly and cold this morning for most of my usual Friday morning walk but by the time that we were finished with our fika, the rain had turned to snow, the wind had picked up and the temperatures had dropped.

"There is no bad weather, just bad clothes!"
The Swedes LOVE to say this so we took it to heart, bundled back up and headed out to two of the local Christmas markets in the snow, sleet and wind.
We spent the entire afternoon outdoors, browsing the markets, drinking glögg, and mostly just talking.  We did see the largest Christmas tree in the world and the smallest public statue.

We also listened to some school age carolers singing their heavily accented English Christmas carols.  So festive and fun.  Not one seemed to be bothered by the weather.
After it got dark (2:45), we did a little browsing indoors before heading off to our separate homes.  The snow continues and we have even now gotten a little accumulation.

Addendum!!
I just looked outside and had to add one more picture.  The snow and the wind are really picking up!  We are now getting real snow!
It's a good thing that Josh came home last night because his usual flight now keeps getting one delay after the next!
