We walked down to one of the many bus stops and rode a bus to the downtown island of Skeppsholmen.
Skeppsholmen houses a variety of museums for Stockholm but we headed for the Arkitektur - och designcentrum to see the display of gingerbread houses (pepparkakshus). These were all made by individuals of all ages as part of contest. They were fantastic and motivated us to try some of our own. So, we loaded up on the supplies we needed and headed home to get down to work.
You will see our final results in a later blog, they are works in process and we having our own little friendly competition.
As evening rolled around, it was time for Tabitha to go out with her friends, for Calvin to head out for some tennis and for Josh and I to go to a live comedy show. Calvin started taking tennis lessons at this facility as soon as we moved here but just last week joined the tennis tournament in progress that was to culminate this weekend. We had no idea that he would qualify for the finals, but he did! Josh and I were so disappointed to not be able to go and watch but we had purchased tickets to our show, months ago. So, Calvin went out on his own, played two matches and won the tournament for his age group!! Fantastic!!! He is thrilled and we are very proud!
While he was taking the U15 tennis world by storm, Josh and I walked just around the corner to a little comedy theater to watch the improv show called "Lost in Translation". It was a hilarious comedy about a foreigner's experiences in Sweden. Great fun!
