Prayers for Paris

Wow, what a week.  We have had one thing on top of another going on this week.  They are finally making headway on our street, which is nice, but unfortunately, that means that they are now tearing up the street coming into our neighborhood so we now have all of that to deal with too.  I also finally took Coco in to the see the orthopedic surgeon about her leg and he explained to me that it really was necessary to fix her ACL. So, I left her there that afternoon for surgery and picked her up the following afternoon.  She is now like a newborn baby that we have to watch and care for carefully.   She is being really good about the whole thing but she not able to walk on her leg and needs lots of medications  to help with the pain and to help her to heal.  Poor thing!

Tabitha and I are now tag teaming our days so that some one is always home with Coco.  I did get to get head out on Friday morning for a nice long walk with a friend that ended at a wonderful coffee shop for fika!  That was fun!
Josh and I also took a long hike in the near by nature preserve on Saturday morning.  The weather wasn't great but the scenery still shone through.
Unfortunately, Friday night was pretty horrible.  With terrorist attacks in Paris, we were very concerned about our many French friends.  When Sept 11 occurred, I could think of only one person that I knew that might be harmed by the attacks.  But with this latest strike on Paris, I thought of many, many friends that might be in harm's way.  So, the kids and I were busy contacting people on Friday and Saturday to make sure that everyone we knew was okay.  Thankfully, they all were, although that beautiful country is now in turmoil and their outlook on things will certainly change as ours did on 9/11.  So horrible.
On Saturday night, Tabitha and Max went out to eat while Josh and I tried to get into a local French restaurant.  We couldn't get a table so we headed to a tapas place instead.  Very nice.
It is never a good thing to walk out to your car and see a small cluster of people, looking apologetic and sheepish standing around your car.  We had that thing exactly happen after church today.  A young dad stepped forward quickly to explain that he had sideswiped my parked car and he was terribly sorry.  Barely six months old and my car has been rear ended and now side swiped.  I guess we will be hitting the body shop once again.  Sigh...
