Calvin, High Jumps, Grandma and Macarons

Last week was certainly busy as I closed up my clinic at work for the summer.  I certainly love my job and am very proud of the services we provide to our students and our community members.  You can check out our video at:

I will have a few more meetings and presentations over the summer but otherwise, I am off work until the end of August!
I also ran up to Ann Arbor on Monday to pick up Calvin after his last final!  He has very successfully completed his freshman year so we moved him home.  We did find out just a few days later though that we will soon be moving him back though, as he got a wonderful opportunity to work as a research assistant on campus for the summer, studying the effects of dopamine on the brain.  He will have a few weeks at home to relax before heading back.

Josh's mom also arrived our house on Monday to watch Max participate in several track meets.  The weather was pretty nice so she got to see Max win first place on Monday and do fairly well on Wednesday.  He has a personal record so far of 5'10".  He is hoping to make 6' by the end of the season.

We loved having Grandma here until Thursday morning as she is not only a great cheerleader, but she also enjoys playing cards with the kids and loves doing all of that yard work that I hate to do!
We were thrilled to have our new custom license plates arrive this week!  Our time in Sweden meant so much to us that we wanted to illustrate our love on our cars!  Josh chose "Lulea" because that was the name of the city that he worked in, in the far north of Sweden while I chose "fika" because of the wonderful Swedish daily coffee break tradition of fika.
On Friday, I hosted a brunch with my cooking club where I taught my group to make raspberry macarons.  Everyone loves my little French treats and I was happy to share my technique.

On Friday night, our yacht club officially opened for the season with a ribbon cutting ceremony and lovely dinner.  We met some new fun people and enjoyed catching up with others that we had met last summer.  We are now eager to get our boat back in the water!
On Saturday, after a rainy and cold track meet - where Max got another first place- we got dressed up and headed downtown to the beautiful old bank turned grocery store for a wine and food tasting event.  We had a fantastic time with friends and really enjoyed the gorgeous building and the great food and wine.
And, on Sunday, we enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine but working in our yard.  Spring is definitely here!
Calvin and Tabitha took off to my mom and dad's for a few days while Max prepares for his AP tests and final exams.
