Confirmation!

Another busy week for us, full of track meets, visitors and Max's Confirmation!
Max has been jumping quite well for a freshman on a huge track team.  On Wednesday, he was thrilled to clear 5'6" in a meet which qualifies him for varsity status.  Pretty exciting!  He is usually placed 3rd or 4th on his team so although he doesn't get to jump in every meet with that status, he does get invited to jump in many.  He is fun to watch!

After the track meet on Wednesday and a mad dash home to clean up and get dressed up, Max celebrated his Confirmation at church.  Quincy's good friend, Brody, has basically been a member of our family for years and is currently training to become a priest.  Brody was more than happy to act as Max's sponsor for this event so we were thrilled to have him join us on Wednesday evening.

After the Confirmation, a dinner out and some cake at home, we were all worn out and ready for bed. On Friday evening, Quincy flew home for a quick 18 hour visit.  He needed to renew his driver's license in Ohio before making the long drive/move home for the summer.  Ohio does not offer any online services, so Quincy flew home on Friday and back to St Louis on Saturday so that he could complete his finals.  We loved having him home even though it was a brief visit and I was lucky enough to celebrate Mother's Day a day early with two of my kids!  We had a fun lunch followed by gifts!  Gotta love that!
On Sunday, Josh and Max made me breakfast in bed before Josh and I headed to the towpath for a long walk in preparation for my upcoming really long breast cancer walk.  We did 14 miles in the gorgeous sunshine before stopping at a favorite burger place for a burger and beer!
Tabitha has finished her finals and is busy this week, moving into her subletted apartment for the summer.  She will stay in New Orleans to take a couple of classes and work.  Quincy will finish his last final on Tuesday before heading home.  He will work at the same summer camp in Michigan again this summer.  Calvin has finals all week this week before he comes home next weekend.  He will then do a 2 week internship with the IT department of Josh's company before his graduation.  Exciting times!
