Weekend in Pittsburgh

With all of the kids back at their respective schools by Tuesday morning, things were sort of back to "normal".  Until Thursday morning... when Max left bright and early with his Model United Nations group for the national conference in Washington D.C. He was part of the Special Politics and Decolonization committee and had a great time.  He really seems to enjoy these conferences and did not come home until late Sunday night.  He is exhausted and back at school today so I have hardly had a chance to hear about the weekend.  I looked through 100's of posted pictures from the conference Facebook page and finally spotted one glimpse of Max (He is on the far left).

Josh and I worked on Thursday and Friday and enjoyed some brief glimpses of spring despite our constantly fluctuating and usually cold weather.

But, for the weekend, we decided to take full advantage of having an empty nest and the freedom of nothing scheduled for the weekend!  So, we took off for Pittsburgh.  Pittsburgh is really a great city and only 95 miles from here.  So, we booked ourselves into a very nice hotel on the river front, got tickets to the local dinner theater to see the Broadway musical "First Date" and set about the task of  just relaxing!  It was great!  We walked many miles along the riverfront and through the city despite the cold wind and the hordes of Pirates fan who were ready for opening day.  We ate some delicious Pittsburgh traditions and laughed our way through the show.  Fantastic!  We were home by late afternoon on Sunday and ready to be parents again by the time Max got home!

Tabitha got to go to a sorority formal this weekend when her friend's date cancelled at the last minute and Emma didn't want to go alone.  Tabitha got dressed up and tagged along.  She said that they had a great time.
Quincy is working hard on his role in his campus production that is coming up soon.  He is really enjoying the whole SLU theater scene.  Calvin is finishing up his last full month in high school!
