Autumn Has Arrived!

We are truly in the most beautiful part of the year right now and trying to enjoy every minute of it!  I was able to get out and do several hikes in the beautiful metro parks near our house this week as well as participating in a very fun discussion of "Straight Man" with my book club.  I also had a great time on Thursday at the Chagrin Falls annual documentary international film festival.  I saw two excellent documentaries with a friend and enjoyed the small town version of a big town festival.
On Thursday evening, I was lucky enough to have an old friend in town for a visit.  Sheila was in Cleveland for a wedding and spent the night at our house.  It was great to catch up and to just sit and visit.  She loved the challenge of getting to our house through the construction zone!
On Friday, my first by-line appeared in a local paper.  I was asked to write an article about the facility in which I work.  I loved doing it and hope to do more for this monthly newspaper! (Look on page 2)
On Friday, Josh drove to Muncie and picked up Calvin for a long weekend at home.  We certainly love having him here!  On Saturday morning while Max ran at his cross country meet, I took Calvin to a local coffee shop where he met an MIT alum for his admissions interview!  He was a little nervous but felt like it went very well. MIT is his first choice of schools, so we hope so!
Max ran an excellent race and dropped almost a minute off of his best time!
On Saturday evening, Josh and I joined my Bon Appetite dinner club at a local restaurant for an evening of delicious food and socializing!  We had a great time and loved the Tremont area of Cleveland that we were introduced to.  Max and Calvin loved having the evening together and stayed home; eating lasagna, watching a movie and playing games together.
Today was just gorgeous!  We could not get enough outdoor time so we went hiking and then took the kids up to Lake Erie Bluffs to explore the lake front.  Fantastic!

When we got home, it was time to get to work so while I tackled Calvin's mountain of laundry, Josh and the boys raked the leaves that have begun to fall in earnest.  Quincy and Tabitha were feeling fortunate that they were not home for this task!
