Okay, so, it's not spring...

I might have jumped the gun with enjoying the spring-like weather that we were having.  We have now jumped into winter for sure.... with two feet!  I also fell a bit behind on my blog so let me bring you up to speed.  On Feb 3, Calvin got to come home for one of his long weekends.  We took the opportunity to take him up to the University of Michigan for an admitted students day on that Friday. Even though we have been skeptical of Michigan since he applied, (simply because Josh was "raised that way" at Notre Dame), we all had to admit that we were very impressed with their program!  Calvin has not only been admitted but he has also been admitted to their Honors program and they certainly made that sound spectacular!  So, Michigan may have moved up a bit on his college list!
We also found that we truly enjoyed the little city of Ann Arbor, especially the famous Zingerman's Deli!

On Saturday evening, we took the boys to see The Blue Man Group in downtown Cleveland.  They loved it!  And, as always, Max hated to see a sibling leave on Sunday.... Leaving him again as the only child in the house.
Max finished up his bowling season last week.  He had a great time and said that this was the first time that he was sad to see a sport season come to an end!
I had a crazy fun, spontaneous week last week when I got a phone call on Sunday morning from a good friend in Atlanta.  She was able to get her hands on tickets to the taping of the Live with Kelly and Michael show in New York city for Thursday morning.  She wanted to know if I could meet her in NYC on Wednesday afternoon and go to the show!  Well, I could and I did thanks to Josh's frequent flier miles and my generous mother-in-law!  Janis came and stayed with Max while I took off for the Big Apple!  Claudette from Atlanta, our friend, Sophie from Toronto and I met on Wednesday afternoon and had a whirlwind 24 hours in NYC!  Claudette's sister and a friend from DC also came and joined us for the show and we had a ball.  We were able to get tickets to the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime on Broadway on Wednesday night as well as the television show on Thursday morning.  What a great time of talking, laughing and just having fun!

We even got to see Bryan Adams perform live!

And we posed for a picture of Kelly Ripa!

The next day, we even caught ourselves on national television!

So much fun!!
While all of this fun was going on though, Cleveland was steadily getting snow storm after snow storm after snow storm with colder and colder temperatures.

It is pretty and it has been nice to have some winter.... But, that was enough!  I wouldn't mind it warming up again!
Josh and I did brave the horrible cold and crazy snowing weather last night to celebrate our Valentine's Day.  We had tickets to ride the historic Cuyahoga Valley Scenic railroad through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park while sampling five different beers and enjoying an array of appetizers.  It was very fun and beautiful in the snow!

Today, was another very cold day but at least we didn't get any new snow.

So, after church, Josh and I spent some time in the basement where we have slowly been going through boxes in our storage room and sorting, organizing and getting rid of things.  This was our favorite find from today!
