While Josh was watching Calvin, I finally got to see Max run in a cross country meet! It was his first ever and he truly did quite well! Out of a team of 56 boys, he was the 2nd fastest freshman and outran about 35 of his other team mates! Can't complain about that! I was also able to volunteer at the Friday night pasta dinner that the parents host each night before a meet. A great opportunity for me to meet other team moms (and a dad!).
Earlier in the week, I not only joined my newcomers club for their fall kick-off luncheon at a beautiful, local country club, but I also got to join my cooking club for a wonderful afternoon of tapas!
On Tuesday night, Josh and I felt like we were right back in high school together when we attended Max's curriculum night. We got to follow his schedule and spend 10 minutes with each of his teachers. Pretty fun to see what his day is like each day and to wander the halls of his big school!
Friday night, my parents and my sister drove over so that we could all go see "The Book of Mormon" in downtown Cleveland. Funny show!
The big kids are settling in at their schools again for the new school year. Quincy is texting me for recipes as he is in an apartment this year and will need to eat! Tabitha participated in a huge service project yesterday to mark the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. She worked hard all day to help clean up a school for the beginning of the school year. Sounds like a great cause to me!
